Personally I feel like HerizonTech has been out of the game for a bit now, while they have had great products come out mainly during the start of vaping and Sub-Ohm tanks. They really have not had anything to special lately UNTIL NOW! The HorizonTech Falcon Sub-Ohm tank has brought them back to the top of recommended tanks. How? We'll be going over all of this in detail in this review. But to make it simple it is the Pure Flavor and Smooth hit that truly make this Sub-Ohm Tank Shine over the rest.

Tank Setup

  • STEP 1: What we want to do is go ahead and take the bottom off of the tank which should unscrew rather easy. Our coil should come out with the bottom piece but it may be stuck on the top chimney. If this is the case lets go ahead and pop our glass off carefully and unscrew our coil.
  • STEP 2: Now what we need to do is take our coil which should be separate from the tank at this point and give it a good prime. All we need to do here is take what ever E-Liquid we want to use and saturate all the cotton to insure we have no dry cotton for our first hit. I do recommend keeping the coil sideways as this will help give the E-Liquid time to really soak in, it also helps keeping the E-Liquid from coming out of the bottom of the coil and creating a mess.
  • STEP 3: Now that our coil is primed it is time to go ahead and put everything back together. We want to start with putting out coil in the bottom part of the tank that we just took it out of. We only need it to be hand tight so I wouldn't recommend over tightening it as we do have to take it off again at some point. Once that is done go ahead and pop the glass back on and attach the top back on which should screw onto the top of the coil.

The HorizonTech Facon is a top fill Sub-Ohm tank so this should be a breeze. First all we need to do is screw off the top, it just takes about a quarter turn before it comes off which if nifty no unscrewing for days. Once we have the top off we just need to fill it up in one of the side slits(We never want to put E-Liquid directly into the center hole as this is where our vapor production comes from.

STEP 5: Now that we have our coil primed, our tank back together and filled, all we need to do is finish the priming process. The last thing we need to do is take about 4-5 dry hits. In order to do this we just want to basically hit the tank like we normally would but with out actually firing it off. This will draw a bit more juice into the coil just to make sure we have no dry spots. Once that is done and we have checked to make sure we are at the correct wattage then its just time to vape and enjoy. (Some people like to let the tank sit a additional 20 min or so this is optional and not required). We also do recommend adjusting the airflow which is located at the bottom of the tank to wide open, this well help smooth the hit out quite a bit.

How Does The Falcon Hit:

The HorizonTech Falcon is a amazing tank, and it does hit quite well as well. The cloud production is good but if your looking for TFV12 clouds then that is not something this tank will do. The max you will probably run the Falcon at is roughly 60-80 watts. Which seems to be a nice spot to be as you will get a lovely sized cloud and great flavor due to the lower wattage. The hit is quite flavorful which we will go over in the next section as well it is quite a Smooth hit. Not rough on the throat at all if you are already used to Sub-Ohm tanks, and even if your not this would be a wonderful place to start.

How Does The Flavor Hold Up:

The HorizonTech Falcon is in my top favorite tanks and this is due to the way it hits. Lets talk about flavor a bit this is key to this tank and is what really makes it stand out. There are quite a few coil options but I prefer the F1, or the Mesh M1 & M2 coils. As they seem to provide the best hit out of all of the coil options, the F2 & F3 were nice but just not quite a good as the other options though and we want the best right? But for flavor purposes we will be focusing on the Mesh coils, and do they hit nicely. The Mesh coils for the Falcon really bring just about a RDA flavor profile to the Tank which means pure flavorful flavor a win all around. But this tank doesn't just have good flavor, it is also a super smooth tank due to its triple airflow and shorter chimney.

The HorizonTech Falcon Sub-Ohm tank has quite a few advantages, but just like anything is also has its disadvantages which we will go over in the next section.

  • Quick and easy top fill design.
  • Super Smooth & Flavorful hit.
  • The Falcon does have the option for Mesh coils.
  • Triple airflow to help increase its smooth hit.
  • up to 7ml tank capacity which is nice compared to most 5ml.
  • The Falcon only requires 50-80 Watts to fire so works perfect on most devices.

While most love to just talk about the good, we like to also talk about what mite put a few people off as well. As this is something you will figure out as soon as you use it.

  • The Falcon does produce a smaller or normal size cloud so if your a cloud chaser this may not be for you.
  • The bubble glass option does stick out quite a bit making it more prone to breaking VS its 5ml replacement glass (5ml Glass Included with tank).
  • Standard 510 Drip Tip little more constrictive compared to the TFV8, or TFV12 810 Drip Tip.

Overall we do have to say that the HorizonTech Falcon Sub-Ohm tank is and probably will remain in our top favorite tanks. The Falcon not only looks stylish and more compact than the larger tanks out there. It also provides a super smooth hit, and flavor that can almost compete with a true RDA this is something that is hard to find in a tank. IF you looking for flavor, longer coil life with the Mesh coil options, a smooth all day hitting tank then this is exactly what you need. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a new Sub-Ohm Tank.
